First, see whether this is for you

Perhaps you want to paint but have never begun. Or you walk into a park, enjoy the scenery, and do not know which part to choose or where to put the first mark. You can begin with this one experience.

You do not need prior painting experience or a new set of equipment. I begin with water, brushes, and color, then use the scene in front of us to demonstrate how to observe, frame a view, and choose what to keep.

We paint together, and also pause to look and talk. More than having everyone complete the same model painting, I hope you make a discovery of your own during these three hours.

How we spend three hours together

  1. Walk and look, about 30 minutes: get to know one another and find a view that catches your attention. I explain why I stop in a particular place and listen to what you notice.
  2. Try water and color, about 30 minutes: get to know the materials, begin with the basics, and see how to select an image from the scene in front of you.
  3. Paint at your own pace, about 90 minutes: try things individually while I demonstrate and offer guidance. We can talk through questions as they arise and leave room for a break.
  4. Look at the paintings together, about 30 minutes: talk about what we noticed, then pack the supplies away. There is no need to compare whose painting looks most accurate.

The pace adjusts to the group. Each session has 3 to 7 participants, with no more than 8 people including me.

Fees and supplies, explained beforehand

CNY 250 per person: use supplies provided on the day

This includes one three-hour activity, basic demonstrations, on-site guidance, and use of materials that day. It suits people without painting equipment who want an easy way to try. The supplies are returned at the end; a complete set is not a gift to take home. Specific tools and paper arrangements are confirmed before attendance.

CNY 200 per person: bring your own supplies

This includes the same three-hour activity and guidance. If you already have equipment, you can bring it. Tell me beforehand what you have, and we can check together whether it suits this outdoor session.

Consider your own supplies if you want to continue

You can also ask about a personal materials set for CNY 500; buying it is optional. The proposed contents are two brushes, a paint set, a palette, and a brush-washing container. Brands, specifications, and the final list are confirmed before purchase. Fees for using supplies in individual sessions do not automatically accumulate as credit toward the set.

Starting in a Shanghai park

Zhabei Park or Daning Park is being considered for the first session. The date, park, meeting point, and painting spot have not yet been decided. For now, you can express interest and tell me when you are available.

When confirming a session, I will explain the meeting location, equipment arrangements, and what happens if the weather changes or someone needs to cancel or reschedule. Confirm the arrangements first, then decide whether to book and pay.

You can look at my Shanghai sketching map to see places I have visited and painted. The map and images on this page record past creative work; they do not mean the venue for this activity has been confirmed.

How to contact me

  1. Add WeChat TeeSoho, with the note "公园水彩" (park watercolor), or email 80883810@qq.com.
  2. Tell me your available dates, the number of participants, and whether you want to use the supplied materials or bring your own. You can inquire on your own or with friends.
  3. Confirm the session, fee, meeting arrangements, and cancellation terms together before booking and paying. An inquiry is not a confirmed booking, and you do not need to buy ten classes in advance.

Common questions

Can I keep up if I have never painted before?

You can begin with no experience. I explain the basic use of the materials and help as you start painting. No advance practice is required, and everyone does not have to produce the same work.

Can I take home the supplies included in CNY 250?

No. The fee includes use on the day, and the supplies are returned afterward. If you want your own materials, you can ask separately about the CNY 500 set. Purchasing a set is not required to attend.

Is the first date confirmed?

Not yet. Zhabei Park or Daning Park is being considered, and you can first tell me when you are available. Booking follows confirmation of a specific session and meeting point.

What if it rains, something comes up, or there are too few participants?

The weather plan, conditions for a session to go ahead, and cancellation or rescheduling arrangements will be explained when confirming the session and agreed before payment. An indoor backup venue has not been assumed.

Can people with some experience join?

We can first discuss what you hope for. This session focuses on observing a park, expressing what you see, and painting with company, with basic demonstrations and individual guidance. If you want intensive practice in a particular technique, we should first confirm whether it fits.

Paint together online, one session at a time

CNY 29.9 per person per session, lasting one hour, through Tencent Meeting.

If you would like time set aside to paint together, you can book an online painting-companionship session. You can follow along, paint a subject of your own, or begin by watching me paint and talking when questions arise.

I open sessions according to my own creative schedule, with dates and times confirmed in advance. Join once when a suitable time appears. There is no need to buy a long-term package, attend consecutively, or check in every day.
